Chola New Year !!! WooHoo ...

Hey Spunk!!! Ahh... im feeling sooo peaceful in my heart right now cos i'm listening to the new version of ai ru chao shui by cai cun jia... its actually an old song that i grew up listening to... forgot when it came out already, but im assuming it should be quite old cos i've heard it on the capital radio 958 quite a few times...(my parents are kinda glued to that radio station)... well, how's your new year eve like? Waiting to hear about it. haha. I think i just had the best new year in my entire 20 years. =) (Come think about it... im turning 21 this year...;( stress ah!!! ) Went with my friend to try out the penang hawker buffet @ york hotel... though we only had 40 minutes to eat before the buffet ended, cos in the process of finding the hotel (which was located just beside far east plaza) , we got lost. haha. Well, a couple of months back, we were walking along the stretch of road from dhoby ghaut to bugis when we saw a banner of the buffet and silly us thought that the penang buffet was held in that building when it was just advertising for York Hotel( the place where the real penang buffet was supposed to be held). Damn, so we had to rush from one end of dhoby ghaut to the other end of orchard road in the scorching sun. But well, the rush, getting lost and all was all worth it! And i found new love there...penang laksa... wooosh... the taste is really one of a kind. I was surprised that penang laksa tasted sour and it wasn't spicy at all!!And of all things, i actually found some pineapples inside! Definitely one of my favourites!!! Then there was this fried oyster omelete!!! I think its one of the most unoily ones ive eaten haha. 10 Stars for it...Then those peanut pancakes but its the crispy version.!!! Nice Nice Nice. Definitely one of the nicest buffet i've eaten. PS. I took part in some lucky draw also... lets hope some manager from York Hotel reads this and give me the first prize or something...haha. Did lots of walking after that cos we were feeling so damn full. With all the food in the stomach, i felt like i was somewhat pregnant cos my stomach felt super heavy. haha. Then we went for a few hours of fat-burning exercises..from far east to heeren... and all around orchard. My feet was already aching like hell around 6 plus... cos i wasnt wearing proper shoes...i decided for a change... and squeeze my pig trotter - like - feet into something like this. I wished i had some premonition that i was gonna walk all the way from 12 - around 4 in the morning. Bah... imagine walking for that period of time with your feet tied with a rubber band and walking on tip toes... Ouch!!! Should have stuck to my mary janes. So comfy and nice. =) For once, i felt like an aunty. haha. snatching seats with people... i guess the pain brings out the worst in people. But nevermind, i've been nice enough to those aunties 9 out of 10 times in the train by not even bothering to join in the fuzzle of 'musical chairs' so now, its pay back time. haha. Somehow, my friend and i decided to stay out the entire night and then watch a late nice movie cos we both wanted to experience how it feels cos it was something new to us. Sat at lido(the place where it has all the movie trailers) and chatted till it was around 11. It was mainly about my almost non-existent and cannot-make-it relationship with 3 guys i got really close to. Some might have proceeded to the mature stage if i hadnt been so careful, so stressed, and also if my mom had given me the greenlight. At some point of time, my friend kinda scolded me for it, cos errm one of them was considered to be good-looking. haha. I cant help it if im a commitment freak. Headed off to esplanade for the count down next. Finally saw for myself how much bangladeshs there were.Packed like sardines as we were, but i somehow saw the most beautiful thing. I see friends looking out for one another, holding on tightly to each other...for omce, i felt the strength of frienship...cos me and my friend were also constantly looking our for one another(cos none of us wanted to get molested). haha. I think i got closer to that friend of mine throughout our journey. We must have felt alot of sense of achievement that night cos it was really hard moving around with the huuuuugggeee crowd of people...the fireworks was great at esplanade, but it actually took us two bloody hours to get from cityhall to orchard after the countdown. Somehow, i think water became the pushing force behind me for that two hours, my friend wanted to wait for the crowd to clear but i was super-determined to squeeze out with the crowd cos i wanted water so much. We were lucky to escape from all those spray cans they spray during the festive season until... when we reach cathay, there were this group of banglas who sprayed at me... bah...but it wasnt as bad as the group of people in front cos they were sprayed all over, but the banglas kinda missed me, so they only got me at my shoes cos i was walking damn fast. haha. oh yeah, and also there was this bangla who kept calling me... but i ignored him and continued walking.-___-
Managed to reach our cinema in time around 230. Watched School of scroundrel cos we wanted something light hearted and funny. I fell asleep during the advertisement part of the show cos i couldnt tahan anymore! Will tell you about the movie next time cos its kinda too long winded here and i know you're damn excited abt my post... haha. till next entry!!! - val -
